Meter - Gas

Meters, such as electric and gas are often found on the outside of buildings. In most cases, the location of the meter is mandated by the position of the source lines coming into the structure. Another factor controlling the location of the meter is the ability for the gas or electric company and emergency personnel to access the meter or the shut off switch.

Designers need to know where the existing lines are going to enter the building and research the where the meter is to be located. This meter was positioned by a sidewalk for easy access and reading.
